EEE!

Don’t their sweet little faces just melt your heart?
So why don’t you snap away at your favorite animal pal and create your very own postcard?

If you’ve been inspired to create your own postcards with pictures of cute baby critters, you should know there’s more to it than just taking whatever picture you like and slapping it onto your postcard design.

Consider the following:

  • Does the image have sufficient quality for a postcard in the size you want? The specific figures are often a matter of debate among print experts, but a PPI and DPI of 300 should be more than enough to produce great results on a postcard. This article on How To Get Your Image File Print-Ready should answer many of your questions on how to make sure your images are ok to print.
  • Do you have the licenses or expressed permission from the owners of the images you want to use? These licenses might be tricky. For example, some licenses indicate that an image might be fine to use for personal or educational purposes, but may not be used for monetary gain, so be sure to read them carefully
  • Would the recipients appreciate the pictures of cute baby animals? The answer is usually yes though.
  • Will sending postcards with these images be appropriate for your brand? Some businesses may be better served by a more formal approach, so use them carefully, but see if you can find a way to tie them in nicely with your brand.
