You actually have an option to use regular chalk which can be removed using chalk erasers or any damp cloth. However, there are Chalkboard Markers (Chalk Ink brand) which may be purchased separately on the website. These are pigment based chalk markers that is dust free, non-abrasive and does not easily wipe away when brushed against unlike regular chalk. It also does not leave any residus when erased. To erase this, you just need to wipe with a wet paper towel. Chalk Ink also sells there Chalk Cleaner Products which can also do the trick if the ink gets a little stubborn.
