I then examined the PDF proof of my file for the business card design I submitted and found that some important images lie right on the safe zone line. Would you recommend that I move the images, even though I'm in a rush to have this job printed? Gina P - July 19, 2009
Since time is limited, it should be ok if you do not make any changes to your design. As long as your image does not touch the red trim line, your image will not get cut off. Answered by UPrinting.com Prepress Team
When I was creating my business card design using the Adobe Acrobat template, there were no lines on the image. Once I got my proof, there are blue and red lines that appear. What are they? Matt H - July 19, 2009
The blue dotted lines indicate the "safe zone". The safe zone is where all your important text and images should lie within. The red line is the "trim line". Our cutters will trim on this line, but sometimes there may be some slipping during production, and that is why the "safe zone" is given. Answered by UPrinting.com Prepress Team
My AI business card file had no blue or red lines. Why are they on my proof? gary f - July 19, 2009
The blue line shows you where the "safe zone" is. All your important images and text should be within this blue line. Our "trim line" is indicated by the red line. Your card will be trimmed on this line. Answered by UPrinting.com Prepress Team
