What Is Digital Postcard Printing
Digital Postcard Printing
When you need short run postcards at the soonest possible time, digital printing is the best solution. The digital process transfers images and text from the computers directly onto the cards, requiring only a single pass through the machines. This results in faster turnaround times that don't sacrifice quality, making it ideal for rush postcard printing projects.
UPrinting's digital printing service allows you to have high quality prints with sharp and crisp images. Using advanced digital presses, you can create small quantities of prints ranging from 50 to 200. With this printing process, you can print just the number of copies you need. You don't have to worry about wasting money on excess prints.
You can print digital postcards in standard or custom sizes. Standard sizes available are 4"x6", 4.25"x6", 5"x7", 5.5"x8.5", 6"x9", and 6"x11". You can also set a custom size with choices ranging from 4"x4" to 11"x16". We have choices of cardstock that are either PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certified, SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) certified, or recycled. You can also choose whether to have your cards printed on one or both sides.
The Printing Process
Digital printing is the process of printing digital images directly onto the paper or card stock; it is used mainly for low quantity print runs. The process involves inkjet or laser printers, toners and heat presses. The toner forms a thin layer on the surface and sticks to the paper. The printed surface is then placed under a heat press and undergoes a UV curing process.
It's more convenient to print in smaller quantities with digital printing. When you're printing quantities of around 50-200 postcards, the production and initial setup cost is much lower than that of offset printing. You can also vary the details on each card in your print run easily and at no additional cost.
Advantages of Digital Printing to Your Postcard Marketing
As some marketing plans can change overnight, you may need to order your prints after you have finalized your decisions and on short notice. Last minute changes in design and copy could happen too. With digital printing, there's no need to sacrifice the quality of your cards in favor of fast turnaround time.
Using digital printing technology, you can easily personalize or make changes because printing plates are not required in the process. Because this printing process doesn't need plates, the pre-press or setup costs for printing low quantities are much lower.
