How to Install Car Magnets
Installing car magnets takes only a couple of minutes. Before using them, find the best spot where customers will see your advertisements. Car magnets are usually installed in two places:
- Side of the vehicle – Side placement makes it easy for customers to see your magnetic sign while your vehicle is parked on the street.
- Back of the vehicle – If your vehicle is on the move, back placement lets the drivers behind you to see your message.
Now it’s time to put the magnets in place. Here’s how to do it:
- Before installing, place the magnet on a flat magnetic surface for at least 24 hours to flatten it.
- Wipe the vehicle surface and back of the magnet with a wet cloth and detergent. Let dry.
- Place one end of the magnet in the desired position. Line up the other edge of the magnet, making sure that it’s flat against the metal surface.
Note: Make sure that the vehicle surface is flat and entirely metal where the magnet will be placed. Avoid installing on surfaces where there are protrusions (molding, decals, pinstripes, etc) because these will prevent the magnet from sticking securely to your vehicle.
Extend the Life of Car Magnets
Magnetic car signs are durable, but with proper care, you can use these signs for as long as two (2) years.
When cleaning your vehicle, remove the magnet to clean debris from the vehicle surface. This will help extend the magnetic hold of the magnet and prevent any damage to the car sign.
If you will not be using the car magnets for a long period, store them flat and away from direct sunlight.

This will not be an issue as we use UV inks which makes the images not only sharper but also more durable to outside conditions. Although weather conditions and proper care of the signs will always be factors to it's durability, clients have reported that their signs have lasted effectively for up to two years.
We use a 30 Pt Magnetic whose surface will not have any gloss or other lamination so there would be little glare on these magnets. Visually, a dark background on a sign that is in motion may sometimes be harder to standout and be read as against a sign that has a lighter background. However, if the lettering stands out enough, this should be ok.
You can definitely get a print template and it will be available once you create an account online. This will guide on how much bleed need to put and how much space from the trim line you should leave for important elements of your artwork not to be cut off.
If you need to insert images or use backgrounds with specific themes, you can type in your specifications (specially size) on the Configure and Price area and then scroll dow to click on the "Create your Design Online" link. This will allow you to set up your own design and use of licensed images which you need to pay a minimal fee for since these are copyrighted. By using this design tool, you can be assured that the trim lines, safe zones and image quality will all be precise and of optimal printing quality.
Unfortunately this occurs with certain products where the printing cost is low. Over the years we have tried to keep printing cost at a certain level but there are overhead and handling costs that also impact after production which is then added to shipping. These include the additional manpower needed for the manual process involved in packing so that jobs are not delayed and backlogs are avoided, the materials we use to ensure the item will be delivered securely (which we put a lot of effort into) and even moving the hundreds of packages from the production area to our courier's trucks. Then of course the distance of where we print from and ship to is also a factor.
It is a balancing act between the rising costs of printing and shipping that our production team works on constantly and we hope for our client's understanding of the situation.

Yes, you can do that. Please create an account and give us a call as we would need to do a certain protocol so production will process the order. Ideally, we would encourage you to put any artwork on it, even a small dot but we do get these kind of requests from time to time. Also, the cost would be the same whether it is blank or in full color as it will go through the same production process.
