One of the primary goals of the ADA is to standardize signs by making\u00a0them legible and universally understood by people with disabilities.\u00a0Thus, ADA-compliant signages have these key features:<\/p>\n<\/div>

\n1. Raised characters\n<\/h3>
\n

The characters (letters and numbers) should be raised at least 1\/32\u201d\u00a0to allow reading by touch. In addition, the minimum height of\u00a0characters is based on their height above the finish floor and the\u00a0horizontal viewing distance.<\/p>\n<\/div>
