This number keeps increasing, along with the growth of digital buyers. More than half of online shoppers say they subscribe to a subscription box service. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What Makes Them Subscribe?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This simple concept has become a phenomenon because it appeals to modern consumers\u2019 desire for convenient, novel experiences. There are three kinds of subscriptions: replenishment, curation, and access.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>3 Types of Subscriptions<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b>Curation<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mckinsey.com\/industries\/technology-media-and-telecommunications\/our-insights\/thinking-inside-the-subscription-box-new-research-on-ecommerce-consumers\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">McKinsey &amp; Company<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, curation is the most popular with by 55% of the total subscriptions, which reflects the demand for discovering new products catered to their personal taste. These range from clothing, cosmetics, and beauty products.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Replenishment<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Replenishment, in which the services deliver the same monthly commodities, comprises 32% of the e-commerce subscriptions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Access<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Access subscribers make up 13% of the consumers as individuals who pay a monthly fee to obtain prices or members-only perks, primarily in the food and apparel categories.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>How long do they subscribe?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report shows that 60% of subscribers are women, but men are more likely to have 3 or more active subscriptions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the market is steadily getting bigger, it is also changing at a rapid pace.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A study by<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/info.recurly.com\/research\/churn-rate-benchmarks\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recurly<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> examined over 1,500 subscription sites and found that more than one-third of consumers who sign up for a subscription service cancel in less than 3 months, and over half cancel within 6 months. Companies that experience initial success are having difficulty keeping their customers interested in an industry that has an<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/info.recurly.com\/research\/churn-rate-benchmarks\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">11%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> customer churn rate. 85% of these are \u201cvoluntary cancellations\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Why Do Customers Lose Interest?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Subscribers cancel for a variety of reasons.
