If you are acquiring a 1 color envelope the safe zone is 3/16 inch (.1875") from the trim line. For four color envelopes the recommended safe zone is not less the 1/8 inch (.125") from the trim line. Answered by UPrinting.com Prepress Team

Does my Photoshop file need to leave a bleed room for my envelope design? Marla P. - July 14, 2009
Four color envelopes require a 1/16 inch (.0625") bleed. If your colors cover the whole area of the envelope including the flap, you have to download the template from our website or request one from our pre press department to be guided accordingly. We do not allow bleeds for 1 color envelopes, please make sure that your artwork is within the recommended safe zone of 3/16 inch (.1875") Answered by UPrinting.com Prepress Team
