Postcard Mailing Regulations

Following Postcard Mailing Guidelines

UPrinting helps you meet postcard mailing regulations set by USPS (United States Postal Service). The postal service has very strict rules in preparing prints for mailing. Complying to USPS mailing guidelines helps you qualify for discounted postage rates. These are the requirements for postcard mailing process.
  • Indicia are markings on a mail piece that indicates that the sender has paid the postage. These markings usually appear on the upper right hand corner of your postal mail. For folded postcards, the indicia should be on the upper right hand corner of the same side, where the fold opens.
  • Aspect Ratio is the length divided by the height of a postcard. Your mail piece should have an aspect ratio of less than 1.3 or more than 2.5.
  • USPS has measuring requirements for every size and shape of your cards. We will help you setup the proper size of your mail piece. Maximum size is 6” long X 4 1/4” high while minimum size is 5” long X 3 1/2” high.
  • Weight of your mail pieces should not be more than 13 ounces. Postcard mail prices vary depending on the weight of the prints.
  • Address area should be on the mailing side for printing recipients’ address and the barcode. Leave at least a 2 high x 4 wide space on the mailing side.
  • Folded postcards should be tabbed when self-mailed or enclosed in envelopes.

These mailing postcard regulations will help you send out marketing prints to your audience with ease. Check out our site or call at 888-888-4211 to learn more about USPS postal regulations on postcards.
