Postcard Bleed Graphic Design
Graphic Design Tips and Guidelines for Postcards
The bleed in prints refers to the edge of a print where you can let your artwork “spill over”. Extending your artwork through the bleed line prevents unnecessary cropping on your design. For example, if you want to create a 4” x 6” postcard and want your background image to cover the whole print, this image should be 4.25” x 6.25”. This adds 1/8” on each side of your card. We require a 1/8” bleed (we’ll add a bleed if your design doesn’t have one) for your designs. Below is a sample of our template that can guide you in designing standard and folded postcards.
There are different sizes of templates available in our site. Download them for free to check your bleed and margin setup. For questions on postcard printing, launch our Live Chat or call our toll free number, 1-888-888-4211!
