Postcard Bleed Graphic Design
How Bleeds Play Into Your Postcard Graphic Design
I hope you didn't think, when you read the title, that "postcard bleed' meant bleeding postcards, bleeding postcard designs or the like. It has nothing to do with blood at all; it simply means the extension of your artwork to the edge of your design template if you want your design to extend to the edge of your final postcards. We typically require 1/8" bleed and add that bleed if you submitted your design files without bleed in error, but we highly recommend that you do that yourself so you can check every detail of your postcard design for yourself.
Postcard bleed in graphic design is what we prefer, as opposed to borders; our cutters are not that precise to measure the cut around your border so minutely accurately! We have file setup templates on our product pages, including our postcard pages, so you know exactly how far you should extend your design to meet the required bleed measurement. If in case you have any questions about this, feel free to ask one of our friendly representatives through Live Chat or our toll free number!
