Thermal printing is done in two ways: direct thermal or thermal transfer. The difference between them is the process of printing. Thermal transfer uses ribbons to create images on the surface of labels while direct thermal is using a thermal printer which directly producing images on the surface of the paper without using ribbons. Thermal labels have various uses for many products making them ideal for printing specific labels. Here are some of them:
- Printing bar codes. Thermal printing is ideal for producing bar codes since the printer used can create very accurate images of bars. Also, the image produced is fade-resistant and long lasting.
- Labeling pharmaceutical products. Most of the stickers used for labeling pharmaceutical products are thermal labels. Direct thermal stickers are available in full color paper stocks making them ideal as medicine labels since it’s easier to identify drugs when their tags are in color.
UPrinting.com is currently not offering thermal stickers. But we still provide variety of roll and standard labels you can use for labeling different products. For more information, you may contact our customer representatives or continue reading other article pages posted in our website.
