Here are five tips to help you create captivating color presentation folders:
  • Research about color symbolism. Each color symbolizes a certain mood which contributes on how people perceive a certain object or print. For example, the color blue suggests freedom and calmness, but it also connotes coldness and authority. Red, another commonly used color, is associated with blood, life and love, but it can also mean hot and commanding. Search for color symbolism online to know what the other colors symbolize.
  • Study your color wheel. Know which colors complement each other by checking the complementary colors in the color wheel. You can also use variation of these colors and opt for darker or lighter shades.
  • Use colors that match your business. Match the colors with the industry you belong to. If your company is on the corporate industry like law and medicine, use bold colors to establish a formal tone. On the other hand, if your company is in the arts industry, it’s better to opt for vibrant colors to stand out.
  • Don’t use strong colors together. Strong colors have a tendency to overpower each other and this can make the folder unpleasant to look at. Too many colors can also make the folder look cluttered.
  • Use colors appropriate for CMYK. CMYK is a process that uses four color plates: cyan, magenta, yellow, and key black. Most printing companies use this to assure consistency in the shade and quality of the colors. If your file isn’t in this format, the printing company would most likely return your file and ask you to change the color mode.

Keep these tips in mind to achieve compelling color presentation folders. Once you've designed your presentation folders using the appropriate colors, choose the right folder printing company that offers a variety of folders from pocket folders to full-color folders.
