4 Color Process Printing
Understanding Printing from a 4 Color Process Perspective
Ever wonder why the colors of your design on the computer does not totally match their printing turn outs? Do you know why experts would normally recommend you to calibrate your monitor to CMYK colors? Printing is a serious job. Just like any other tasks it works with a process to deliver properly.
Computers, particularly monitors are calibrated in RGB colors. RGB colors corresponds to red, green and blue. This is the color that is commonly seen in devices such as, televisions, image scanners and digital cameras. On the other hand, 4 color printing uses a different type of color calibration. Color calibration in printing goes with the name, CMYK. CMYK is an abbreviation for cyan, magenta, yellow and the key color, black.
In 4 color process printing, our Kimori printers will do it's best to copy the design that is colored in RGB calibration. This means that it is not a hundred percent accurate that you will see the exact same colors of your print product in soft copy and in print turn out. This has been the limitation of 4 color process printing that UPrinting is trying to address.
In order to get the best colors for your print products, we highly recommend our customers to calibrate their monitors in CMYK setting when creating their designs. In this way, it reduces the confusion in the color printing process so as meeting realistic expectations for your print materials.
